Employee Satisfaction Surveys:

It's no secret that satisfied employees often make better employees. While employee satisfaction is not the only ingredient needed for engagement and organizational performance, it is a prerequisite. The cost associated with not assessing and addressing employee satisfaction perceptions translates into turnover, which involves the following:

  • Direct Costs fall into two categories; separation costs and replacement costs. Separation costs include severance pay and costs associated with lost organizational productivity. Replacement costs include recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, processing, orientation, and training expenses.

  • Indirect Costsof turnover can be even more significant. Valuable experience and relationship capital is lost, often resulting in reduced productivity and morale among remaining employees.

Knowing what employees really think is a vital first step towards improvement. Third-party administration helps ensure professional questionnaire design and reporting, benchmarking (across other organizations), and perhaps most importantly provides for confidentiality of responses (ensuring valid and truthful responses).
